Abstract :
ABSTRACT: Field experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of tillage methodsandplant densities on yield of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. monech) in 2012. The treatments consisted of three tillage methods (no-tillage system, minimum tillage system and conventional tillage system) and three plant densities (60 × 20, 50 × 24 and 40 × 30 cm). Split plot design with three replications was used. The results showed that the tillage methods and plant densities had a significant effect on yields attributes measured. The highest forage yield, total dry weight, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, seed dry weight, cab dry weight, cab-stem dry weight and husk dry weight were obtained in no-tillage system and plant density of 40 × 30 cm as compared with others methods of using.
