Abstract :
Novel racemic 5′-C-methyl-1′,3′-dioxolan-4′-yl nucleosides were synthesized from the key intermediate, 2-benzoyloxymethyl-4-oxo-5-C-methyl-1,3-dioxolane, which was prepared from racemic lactic acid.
