Abstract :
A novel polyhydroxy compound with a linear carbon-chain, lingshuiol (1), had been isolated from the cultured marine dinoflagellate Amphidinium sp. Its structure was elucidated by extensive analysis of 2D NMR spectral data. Lingshuiol possessed a powerful cytotoxic activity against A-549 and HL-60 cells in vitro with the IC50 of 0.21 and 0.23 μM, respectively.
