Abstract :
The synthesis and antimycobacterial activity of a series of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactones based on the natural product protolichesterinic acid are described. Compounds 9–12 bearing an allylamide group at the C-4 position showed improved activity with MICs in the range of 6.25–12.5 μg/mL.
