Abstract :
The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Integrated SubsystemsTechnology Demonstration Program was a highly successful industry -wide five-year program in which normally competitive JSF weapon system contractors and suppliers worked together with competitorsto accomplish technology maturation and mitigate technological risks of a revolutionary subsystem concept for tactical aircraft that integrates the subsystems and utility functions thereby reducing the associated major equipment groups from 13 to 5. As a result of this integration, the volume, weight, and costs allocated to these subsystems are signicantly reduced without sacrificing vehicle performance and safety. Major and minor management and execution methods used to focus, solidify, and maintain this industry team over the five-year program are outlined.
