Abstract
The ischemic stroke in young population is mostly because of non-atherosclerotic etiologies like cardiogenic embolism, arterial dissection, procoagulant states and inflammatory arteritis. We report a young 18 years old boy, who had right hemiparesis secondary to cardiogenic embolism. Echocardiography was consistent with biventricular non-compaction. In non-compaction of the myocardium, the embolic complications are related with development of thrombi in the extensively trabeculated ventricle, depressed systolic function, and onset of atrial fibrillation. It is rare to have biventricular non-compaction as a cause of cardioembolic stroke in young individual.
