Polynomial algebras on coadjoint orbits of semisimple Lie groups

We study the algebraic structure of the Poisson algebra image of polynomials on a coadjoint orbit image of a semisimple Lie algebra. We prove that image splits into a direct sum of its Lie center and its derived Lie ideal. We also show that image is simple as a Poisson algebra iff image is semisimple.
