Curves with degenerate general hypersurface sections

Let Y Pn be a non-degenerate curve such that for a general degree thypersurfaceS of Pn, t 2, the scheme Y∩S does not span Pn. Here we give a lower bound for n in terms of t and some invariants of Y.
