Nonlinear connections in synthetic differential geometry Original Research Article

The synthetic treatment of nonlinear connections is given. Synthetic nonlinear connections are shown to be no other than Ehresmann connections on tangent bundles. Their relation to semisprays (= second-order differential equations) is discussed. A nice nonlinear generalization of torsion form already discussed in the context of synthetic linear connections is given, and its properties are developed.
