On fans in real surfaces Original Research Article

We give a description of all fans in a real algebraic surface and in a planar real germ either Nash, or analytic, or algebroid. The main tool is a quantitative version of Bröckerʹs trivialization Theorem. An exhaustive study of real valuations in the respective function fields is also given.
