Abstract :
In her book, Leading With Love, hospital administrator/nurse executive Kathleen Sanford, RN, DBA, says, “When theoretical management techniques are applied to a real-life work setting, the thing that will determine their success is a deep, fundamental concern for customers, employees, and the company, similar to the caring of a loving parent.”1 She believes that nonclinical and clinical caring represent vital keys to patient satisfaction, nurse retention and, ultimately, the financial health of an organization.
