Abstract :
Resource management and staff allocation in the past have not been popular. They are daily routines, like housework—detailed, challenging, and very thankless. When staffing goes well, there are very few kudos. But when it is not attended to, it causes chaos, frustration, turnover, and unnecessary expense. As we develop more science around staffing and scheduling, we still see many organizations using outdated methods to staff and schedule and rely on manual rather than evidence-based electronic solutions.
