Abstract :
In the best of all worlds, nurses would like to identify nursing interventions with the most predictive clinical certainty to achieve the desired patient outcomes. Yet studies suggest that it takes an average of 17 years for research to reach clinical practice.1 Failing to use available science is costly and harmful. It leads to overuse of unhelpful care, underuse of effective care, and errors in execution.2
