Some asymptotics for triangular matrices over finite fields Original Research Article

This paper compares the asymptotic behavior of certain probabilities for n × n upper triangular matrices over imageq to the asymptotic behavior of the corresponding probabilities for arbitraty n × n matrices over imageq. Specifically, the asymptotic behavior of probabilities for a given rank, for a given corank, and for diagonalizability are considered.
