Decomposition of generalized polynomial symmetric matrices

Characterization of nonnegative matrices A which satisfy the equation (Ap)T=∑i=1tαiAmi,where p0 for all i is given as a direct sum of matrices of special types. Applications to stochastic and {0,1} matrices are derived, thus generalizing a number of earlier results.
