Abstract :
Implementing long term care for ageing population is a vital concern all over the world. Different approaches and methods have been practicing for the care of elderly population. In India, the care of elderly is traditionally offered by their grown up children. But the emergence of nuclear families, high rate of national as well as international migration and soaring living cost have tend to alter the traditional care system which are being practiced since centuries back. Innovative practices should come out in elderly care and that would be suitably adaptable to the existing conditions also. The concept of ageing education through school curriculums attempts to bring out the possible alternative support for elderly care. The hectic schedules of student’s life make them little time and less concern over their grandparents. In this paper the framework tries to infuse the different aspects of ageing with a multidisciplinary way of approach in the school curriculum. The better understanding and experience on elderly care through constructivist approaches would lend a hand to strengthen the total support system.
