Application of Variational Iteration Method to Solve a Degenerate Convection-Diffusion Equation Arising in Flow in Porous Media

In this paper a nonlinear degenerate convection-diffusion problem describing two-phase flow in porous media is considered in petroleum reservoir and groundwater aquifer. A weighted algorithm based on variational iteration method is used to solve this nonlinear degenerate, convection-diffusion problem. For illustration purpose, two test problems are considered and their approximate and exact solutions are compared.
