Profits of banks depends upon their income and expenditure trends, more the income and less the expenditures, the more is the profitability. Keeping this thing in mind, a comparative study of different bank groups is done w.r.t. their income and expenditure trends. For that the entire banking industry is divided into five groups namely nationalized banks, SBI and its associate banks, old private sector banks, new private sector banks and foreign banks.
