Abstract
An assessment was carried out in the Binuang spacing trials that were established in 2006 in Lungmanis Forest Reserve. There were five different planting distances. The results indicate that the 5 m x 5 m spacing had the highest growth in DBH (diameter at breast height) with a MAI (mean annual increment) of 3 cm/year, followed by the 4 m x 5 m with a MAI of 2.93 cm/year. The 4 m x 5 m spacing also had the highest growth in height with a MAI of 2.5 m/year. The estimated total volume for the stand in the 4 m x 4 m, 4 m x 5 m, 5 m x 5 m, 5 m x 6 m and 5 m x 8 m was 8.86 m3/ha, 15.56 m3/ha, 12.25 m3/ha, 2.93 m3/ha and 3.63 m3/ha respectively.
