Abstract :
The complexes {[Cu(3,30-azpy)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2(H2O)2}n (1), {[Cu(3,30-azpy)3(H2O)2](BF4)2(H2O)2}n (2) and {[Cu(3,30-azpy)(H2O)4]
(SiF6)(H2O)2}n (3) (3,30-azpy ¼ 3,30-azobispyridine) were synthesized. The crystal structures show that one-dimensional helical chains
[Cu(3,30-azpy)3(H2O)2]are formed and the helical chains are organized into three-dimensional molecule networks by hydrogen bonding
and p–p stacking interactions in 1 and 2. The zigzag chains {[Cu(3,30-azpy)(H2O)4]}n
2nþ are formed in 3. The zigzag chains are further
linked into the three-dimensional network through the hydrogen bond interactions.
