Early Phonological and Lexical Development of a Farsi Speaking Child: A Longitudinal Case Study

تحقيق حاضر به توصيف و تحليل توسعه آوايي و واژگاني كودكي مي پردازد كه زبان فارسي را به عنوان زبان اول خود فرا مي گيرد. توليد زباني اين كودك در مرحله تك واژگاني- كه بطور عمده شامل توليد كلمات تنها مي باشد- به مدت هفت ماه از ابتداي 16 تا 23 ماهگي وي مورد مشاهده ، ثبت ، و تجزيه و تحليل قرار گرفته است. هدف از اجراي اين تحقيق بررسي اين موضوع مي باشد كه آيا يافته هاي مطالعات مربوط به توسعه آوايي و واژگاني كودكان درزبانهاي ديگر، در مورد زبان فارسي به عنوان زباني از زبانهاي شاخه هند واروپايي نيزصادق است يا خير؟ در اين تحقيق مباحث «غلبه مقوله دستوري اسم»، «جهش واژگاني» و غلبه ساختارهاي آوايي CV, CVC, CVCV در توليدات واژگاني اوليه كودك مورد بررسي و تاييد قرار گرفته است. مطالعات محدود و انگشت شمار انجام يافته در زمينه توسعه آوايي و واژگاني كودكان در زبان فارسي نشانگر لزوم و اهميت مطالعه در اين زمينه مي باشد

The present study aims at the description and analysis of the phonological and lexical development of a child who is acquiring Farsi as his first language. The childʹs language production at the holophrastic stage of language development, mainly single words, is observed and recorded longitudinally for nearly seven months since he was 16 months old until he turned 23 months. An attempt is made to see if the phonological and lexical findings of the same period found in other languages are confirmed in the case of Farsi (an Indo-European language). Issues like noun dominance in the early words, vocabulary spurt of the toddlers, and the dominant CVCV, CVC, CV syllabic structures are the focal points in this study. The significance of the study lies in the fact that the number of the studies done on the language development of monolingual Farsi speaking children is very few.
