Abstract :
The noise degrades performance of image processing algorithms in brain imaging. Image denoising methods are important image processing algorithms which are used to reduce the noise. Brain image denoising is one of the most important parts of clinical diagnostic tools. Brain images mostly contain noise, inhomogeneity and sometimes deviation. Therefore, accurate process of brain images is a very difficult task. However, accurate process of these images is very important and crucial for a correct diagnosis by clinical tools. A review of image denoising methods for brain MRI images is presented. The review covers methods for noise reduction and their comparative evaluations based on reported results.
