MODELING OF WIND POWER PRODUCING IN CASPIAN SEA CONDITIONS

A modeling of power producing characteristics for some specified regions of the Caspian Sea is carried out on the basis of long term observations and measurement of average wind speed and gusts as well as sea excitement. With the help of models developed, regions of the sea which are most suitable for wind power production are estimated. Main results of prospective wind farm location mapping are presented. All results obtained are based on the analysis of long-term monitoring and measurements of wind parameters for various regions of the Caspian Sea offshore zone and Global Meteorological Model parameters. The results of a feasibility study for using wind turbines of leading global manufacturers are presented.
