Abstract :
A new organic–inorganic hybrid mixed-valence Cu(I)/Cu(II) complex [Cu4(ophen)4(mtp)] (1) (HophenZ2-hydroxy-1,100-phenanthroline, mtpZ2-methyl-terephthalate acid) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by XPS spectrum, FTIR spectrum and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Compound 1 belongs to monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, aZ10.281(2), bZ15.188(3), cZ15.333(3) A° , bZ105.072(3)8, VZ2311.8(8) A ° 3, ZZ2, R1Z0.0441. Compound 1 consists of two Cu2(ophen)2 C building units linked by mtp ligand to form a dumbbell shape. q 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.
