Abstract :
A novel organic–inorganic hybrid compound [Cu(imi)2]4[γ-Mo8O26] (1) has been synthesized from hydrothermal reaction of imidazone, MoO3·H2O and CuSO4·5H2O in H2O solution and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystallographic data for 1: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n, a=12.990(3) Å, b=13.915(3) Å, c=15.049(3) Å, β=108.24(3)°, Z=4, V=2583.4(9) Å3. The compound consists of the first centrosymmetric γ-octamolybdate-supported complex [Cu(imi)2]4[γ-Mo8O26]. TG analysis, IR and XPS spectrum of the compound were also studied.
