Abstract
In this paper, Raman spectra of titania nanotube prepared by a soft chemical process through proton exchangement are reported. The new Raman peak at 266 cm−1 is attributed to Ti–OH bonds, which is very important for formation and stability of titania nanotube. Once titania nanotube has been annealed at 400 °C for 1 h in air, Ti–OH bonds shrank to Ti–O–Ti bands by desorbing water. Meanwhile, the tubular structure would be damaged and sequentially the new Raman peaks disappeared.
