Abstract :
A new composite material [Cu(bipy)]4V4O12$2H2O(bipyZ4,40-bipyridine) (1) has been synthesized using hydrothermal technology. 1 is a
two-fold interpenetrating three-dimensional structure composed of {V4O12}4K rings covalently attached by four {Cu(bipy)}C moieties
through the terminal oxo groups of vanadium sites. Compound 1 is the first example of interpenetrating (3,4)-connected network constructed
from metal–organic polymers and polyoxometalates. Interestingly, Cu(I) atoms have a T configuration and {V4O12}4K rings link to
[{Cu(bipy)}C]n chains via two different connecting behaviors.
