Cataloguing of Hand Press Materials and the Concept of Expression in FRBR

There are some parallel strands between the FRBR model and the basic concepts of descriptive bibliography, above all, the way of thinking about bibliographic resources and the fundamental realization that work and manifestation are different things. Much of the discussion since the model was introduced in 1997 has been focussed on the expression entity. The writer hopes to contribute to this discussion by showing why the model does not necessarily bring about the required result when applied to hand press resources.
