The Squam LakeReport is avolumebyeconomistsforeconomists.Itoffersthefruitsof
thelaborsof15topeconomistswhometatSquamLake,NewHampshire,todiscuss
financialreform.Whilesomewhatdisjointed,andavoidingmanyimportantissues,the
bookisnonethelessa tourduforce. Itsmanyrecommendationsderivefromtwobasic
principles:thatreformersneedtothinksystemically,andthatthird-partycosts
stemmingfromsystemicriskneedtobeinternalized.Anditsapproachisjustwhatyou
wouldexpectfromagroupofacademiceconomists.Itasks(andanswers)questions
