Abstract :
One of the key factors in taking a sustainable competition advantage for organizations is having
good technologies and systems, among the rest information technology. However having those
technologies alone cannot make an organization successful. Nevertheless what is effective in this
issue is optimum utilization of high quality information system, and following that is making
improved decisions based on useful information. The main goal of this double section article is to
specify the criteria of information system quality (ISQ) and to investigate its effect on user’s
(managers and experts) decision making quality during a field study. In this study, using sevencriteria
model for evaluating the ISQ that has been devised by researchers before, the effect of ISQ
on users decision making process has been investigated through a field study. Regarding the
strategic position of manufacturing industry in the country during recent years, two state and
private organizations in this industry have been chosen as case study. Research data collecting
has been done from 110 users and analyzing has been performed through inductive statistics such
as Kolmogrov-Smirnof Test and Correlation Test. Research findings show that some criteria, that is
“wise design, ease of use, speed of access to information, measurability and reliability of system”
would affect user’s decision making quality; meanwhile other e.g. “system integrity” is null and it
needs more revision and improvement in those organizations. Finally, suggestions have been
offered in this field in two levels of functional and strategic.
