Abstract :
The progressive growth of population and improvement of living standards lead the world to the
increased demand for food and water. The past management of agriculture and terrestrial ecosystems
has imposed so much pressure on the soil capacity and the environment performance in order to
meet the needs of the growing human population to maintain the global balance of matter and energy.
Thus, land use change could show a profound impact on the soil and land environment. Given the
importance of the subject, the study was conducted on the land use changes and the impact of these
changes on some chemical properties of soil in some part of central Ramshir of Khouzestan Province
with an area of 500 acres. With land use changes from grassland to irrigated cultivation, electrical
conductivity has increasedby17.1% and acidity, organic matters and calcium carbonate have been
reduced by 1.6, 5.71 and 0.22%, respectively. This study showed that dealing with the environment
components should be consistent with their long-term career potential. It means that the use of these
resources should be consistent with all phenomena and natural rules of their survival. If such rules are
not considered, the soil quality will be reduced gradually and this critical context of the environment will
face a serious crisis. Finally, land use change can reduce the quality and increase the soil degradation
and can be followed by Undesirable consequences in the long run.
