Examining the relationship between attitudinal factors and self-development of the nurses, emphasizing the Islamic attitude toward the work

Today, rapid change and development have caused the organizations to be more responsible for the employees’ learning and self– development behavior. Since attitude is amain factor having influence on the employees’ behavior, this study is aimed to examine the correlation between attitudinal factors and self-development of the nurses. This survey is a descriptive study in which 949 nurses are selected as the sample. The data was analyzed using structural equations model, path analysis using Lisrel 8.72 software. According to the results, there is correlation between self-development and some factors including islamic attitude toward the work, career commitment, organizational support, supervisory support, and intention toward self-development. Supervisors and managers, it seems, play a key role in the employees’ learning and self– development through preparing suitable opportunities, supporting the employees, presenting needed information, resources, and rewards.
