LAND REFORMS AND AGRARIAN CONDITIONS IN ANDHRA PRADESH DURING POST INDEPENDENCE ERA

Land reforms and agrarian relations are closely related each other. Agrarian relations and landholding structure play an important role in the performance of the agricultural sector. Land reforms have been on the national agenda since Independence to improve the performance of agriculture as well as for rural re-construction. In this paper, an earnest attempt is made to study the land reforms and agrarian conditions in Andhra Pradesh during post independence period. The entire study has divided into three sections. In the first section, initiatives taken by the government relating to land reforms during post independence has discussed. In the second section, the present agrarian conditions are examined. In the last section, the results of land reforms attributed to S.C, S.T and B.C, who have downtrodden for centuries together, have studied.
