Abstract :
Previously, we have adapted multicanonical sampling to the evaluation of general probability distribution functions (pdfs) such as those appearing in communication system modeling. This letter demonstrates that joint pdfs can be computed in an identical manner. To illustrate, we determine the joint distribution function between the first- and second-order polarization-mode dispersion in an optical fiber.
