Strong instability of solitary-wave solutions for a nonlinear Boussinesq equation Original Research Article

In this paper we obtain the solitary wave of the Cauchy problem for a class of nonlinear Boussinesq equations. The strong instability of the solitary wave is proved by constructing a functional of the solution and establishing the invariant regions. Furthermore, an improved blow-up result related to the solitary-wave solution is also obtained.
