  • Abstract
    Multiphoton interaction of a phased atom prepared in a coherent superposition of its ground and excited states with a general single mode optical field is studied. Calculations are done by using a state vector of the atom-field composite system. Dynamic behavior of atomic inversion, field statistics, and squeezing are studied for the multiphoton interaction of a phased atom including the effects of detuning. Results are discussed for various special cases of initial superposed atomic state and field states such as number state, coherent state and squeezed states.
