Abstract
Today, students often have computers in their dormitory rooms and backpacks that have the power of a typical 1970s university mainframe. It would be helpful if we could use computing power for explicit problem-solving and to develop studentsʹ intuition. In this article, the author explains a method that uses the Java programming languageʹs built-in class structure to do this. The author also supplies a Java class library that can assist instructors in writing programs of this type.
