Abstract
By means of the diffusion entropy method (DE) we analyze the responses of a Hodgkin–Huxley (HH) neuron to two types of spike-train inputs. The stimuli can create a living state matter (LSM), an intermediate condition between dynamics and thermodynamics. An anomalous scaling can also be found, which is corresponding to the thermodynamic condition. The living state matter (LSM) regresses slowly to the anomalous scaling with almost an exact period. The anomalous scaling exponent and the period may be two measures of the dynamical process of a HH neuron under the considered stimuli.
