Abstract
A generalized Schrödinger equation for describing irreversible processes is introduced. It reveals that the wave function probability for an open system is not necessarily conservative, and enables a number of irreversible kinetic equations to be derived. One example in the field of quantum measurement is presented—the problem of wave function collapse with the example of using oscillators as measurement device.
