Analyzing of Capacity and Identifying the Industrial Investment Priorities in Ardabil Province

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to identify the industrial activities and capacities of Ardabil province, for directing investments towards these industries, therefore, industrial activities were analyzed by using a combination of factor analysis, cluster analysis and numerical taxonomy and finally, priorities and industrial capabilities of Ardabil province were identified for investment. Research method was a documentary one and sample consists of all industrial activities with more than ten employees in Ardabil, and the advantage of using related indicators of economic activity for two periods of years, 2005 and 2010, Different sectors of industrial activity in terms of double-digit codes ISIC (third edition) was ranked and by combining the results, the existing industries in the province has been divided into two groups as the first and second priority. The results obtained show that Activities, artifacts and furniture manufacturing not elsewhere classified, Manufacture of medical instruments, optical instruments, etc, Apparel manufacturing, processing and fur color along with recycling and manufacturing of electric machinery and apparatus not elsewhere classified, and etc, constitutes activities with investment priority for the province.
