Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of bonding rectangular plates to substrates with a low viscosity, fast-setting adhesive. The spatial part of a free boundary problem involving the flow of a predefined quantity of liquid between two parallel plates is solved using a simple population migration model. Application of the migration model to the outlined bonding problem shows good agreement of experimental results with theoretical predictions.
