U(N)-monopoles on black holes Original Research Article

We use the classification of complex line bundles over S2 and the Grothendieck splitting theorem to find a range of infinite sets of U(N)-magnetic monopoles at N ⩾ 1 on 4D black holes of the Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordström types. We estimate the monopole masses and show that under certain conditions these monopoles might exist as quantum objects residing in the black holes under consideration.
