Abstract
It is shown that the SU(2) Yang-Mills theory generates a non-perturbative mass in its magnetic sector of magnitude 0.1986 g2T at high temperature due to the condensation of the Polyakov monopole and antimonopole forming a magnetic glueball. The string tension for the spatial Wilson loop is calculated which is also of the same order of magnitude and has exactly the same temperature dependence as obtained from lattice simulations.
