Abstract :
The present study aimed to draw a comparison of psychological mental state (anxiety and depression) between children diagnosed with learning disabilities and normal children in Ahvaz City. Therefore, a sample of 120students (60 normal students and 60 students with learning disabilities) was selected using simple random sampling from a larger group of students studying in Ahvaz elementary schools. The research tools included children’s anxiety inventory (1989) designed and developed by Richmond and Ahvazi Children’s Depression Inventory. Data which were analyzed using MANOVA and univariate ANOVA supported the between-group difference between children with learning disabilities and normal children. Overall, children with learning disability experienced a higher degree of anxiety and depression.
