  • Abstract
    Present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of social skills training in homesickness, emotional intelligence and interpersonal sensitivity in female university students resident in the dormitory. The study was an applied and experimental research with control group design. Participants were selected using convenience sampling method and were randomly divided into two groups of control and experimental groups. The homesickness scale, emotional intelligence and interpersonal sensitivity subscale were performed as pre-test among both groups. The experimental group received 9 sessions of social skills training. The results of statistical analysis of MONCOVA Showed that social skills training significantly reduce the homesickness and interpersonal sensitivity and enhance emotional intelligence. These results supported the main hypothesis that social skills training changes significantly the three psychological variables among the female university students.
