Abstract :
The ever increasing need for foodstuff and the limitations in food production necessitate agricultural development and employment of new and more effective technologies which could be achieved through gaining knowledge and by improving and strengthening skills and capabilities of human resources engaged in agriculture. This research, conducted with the purpose of studying the degree of psychological empowerment of members of the agricultural advisory services companies, is of the descriptive type using the format of a field survey. The statistical population consisted of all the members of the advisory services companies. A total of 235 members of these companies were studied after they were selected through random sampling with proportional allocation and employment of Morgan’s table. A questionnaire, the validity of the form and content of which were decided on after consultations with university professors and experts, was used as the main tool in this study. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested on members of the advisory services companies of the province of Gorgan and the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient obtained was 0.94. Results of our study showed that the degree of the psychological empowerment of the members of agricultural advisory services companies was acceptable and that these members scored higher in the dimension of effectiveness as compared with other dimensions of psychological empowerment. At the end of the article, suggestions are put forward to increase the empowerment of the members of the companies studied.
