Investigation the Disparities of Urban Development in Western Azerbaijan Province of Iran (using HDI analysis and factor analysis models)

Inflation development or growing in some parts of national territory causes imbalance in development of cities because of emphasizing on growth pole theory and its incomplete implementation. Therefore, the first step of planning is knowledge and this study aims to determine the degree of cities development in Western Azerbaijan province, prioritize the various indicators and provide guidelines to reduce the level of imbalance in these cities. For this purpose 7 species of development includes demographic, social, economic, health - Therapy, transportation and communication, cultural and urban infrastructure were calculated by HDI method and then main factors of these indicators were investigated. The findings show that 7 species can be gathered in two factors of cultural infrastructure and demographic - social factor and significant differences are observed between cities in terms of these two main indicators. This issue represents imbalance between the cities, so the model of multi-center development model or decentralized development model for this province is proposed.
