The study of Kerman governmental offices employees’ attitude toward Organ donation of oneself or relatives after brain death diagnosis

The purpose of this study was to determine the attitude of kerman governmental offices employees to organ donation of oneself or relatives after recognizing the brain death. In this investigation 400 employees participated who have been selected by a random clustering method. Data were gathered by a researcher made questionnaire. The results showed that the percent of total score attitude to organ donation of relatives (65.1%) was more than the percent of total score attitude to organ donation of oneself (61.3%). The comparison of these scores Mean has shown a significant statistical difference (p < 0.001). Also the results showed that the attitude of people who were studied was significant according to having an organ donation card (p < 0.001). The employees with an organ donation card had a more positive attitude toward donation of their own organ or their relatives. According to the results of this study, attitude of people toward their own organ or their relatives was not so desirable. However, the attitude toward the donation of relative’s organs was more positive than their own organs.
