Micro-damage induced anisotropy in concrete Original Research Article

A microstructural damage model for plain concrete is developed within the framework of the self-consistent method. The overall anisotropic mechanical response of the material depends on the presence and propagation of interfacial microcracks already present in the virgin material. The formulation is restricted to monotonically increasing quasi-static loads.
