Abstract :
The steel grade UNS S32100 is the stainless material most frequently used in circuits of the VVER type nuclear power stations. Transfer of knowledge about corrosion processes valid for steels not stabilized by titanuim, e.g. of the S30400 or S31600 type, is in many cases not established. It is necessary to expect different behaviour of titanium-stablized steels especially during initiation of localized corrosin processes, due to different phase composition of stabilized and non-stablized steels.
